Libre OS (Android) is Locked Down on Driod X; Unlock it Using Proprietary OS (Windows)

For whatever reason, [Motorola and Verizon has locked down the Android
Operating System on the new Droid X
phone.](http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2010/07/motorola-droid-x-gets-rooted/) The Droid X is loaded up with crapware that can only be removed if you hack the phone to gain root access. The [only known way](http://www.droidxforums.com/forum/droid-x-hacks/1314-we-haz-rootz.html) to [root the Droid X](http://alldroid.org/default.aspx?g=posts&t=493) is to use Windows. Thanks to Motorola an Verizon for taking one of the greatest advantages
of the Android OS, it's libre software, and making sure that all but a
few never benefit from this advantage.
